SCA inaugurates clean drinking water facilities in Nangarhar province

Six clean drinking water reservoirs were completed under the Rural Development Programme in Achin district, Pekha area.

5,000 families will directly benefit from the reservoirs.

One resident and tribal elder, Mast Yar, said, “I don’t have such kind of words to express and praise this service, I am really happy, in the past period of life we would bring water from very remote area. Donkeys and mules were walking in the water which we used as drinking water. All the time, our kids and elderly were sick due to the unclean drinking water, now we see that there is water in every home, clean and healthy water. We thank to SCA for providing the facilities.”

The reservoirs included Gawdara, Manjawar, Khwagai, Lataband, Lataband Mirano and Machu Maina.

The total cost of these vital projects has been 24 million AFN and all the projects were successfully completed within two years.
